College Debt: How are Auction Rate Certificates (ARC's) going to effect this area???
If anyone has noticed over the past four months, there has been this rather large rumbling occuring in the financial services industry; Auction Rate Certificates. These were vehicles sold as cash which allowed municipalities and private lending companies to finance various projects, cash-flow issues, etc. Well, it seems most of the College Debt Private Finance companies who issues these ARC's have not found a solution for the money they owe to investors. With that said, it seems the college debt finance market is going to get a little bit tighter going forward.
I would like to hear from someone out there who can give a good detailed description of the ARC situation, as it relates to College Debt Finance companies, along with the various solutions. I believe the best way is to shop until you drop if you need the money. The problem with that solution is the amount of time, energy, and resources required to keep trying different avenues...
